I made 4 passes in pro before I red lighted my day away. Andy made several rounds in pro also. Last weekend Danny won Modified at the El Paso track, ( didn't get home until after midnight)
Next race 18 April, come on out we always have fun and run.
Here recently I found out Gary Handen (who is a local resident) is racing in NHRA again. And doing very well. He agreed to keep us up to date on his progress. Good Luck Gary!
To All Fellow Mopar Enthusiasts:
Here we are in May and we have yet to go past the second round at any National Event.........Guess I was getting spoiled by the success we had late in the year last fall. The Dart is running Great, and my driving is OK. It just seems that I run into some impossible runs. Jeff Taylor (2nd round, Las Vegas Nationals), had a .018 package against me. How do you beat that?????. He had a .018 light and ran a "dead on zero". I had a decent .032 light and broke out by 4-5 thousands. By the way, Jeff Taylor just won the Nationals in St. Louis this past week end. I also ran into Brad Poulard that had a .02 something package against me. I was proud that I beat Dan Fletcher in the first round of Class eliminations in Las Vegas.......Get this: I had a .005 light and he had a .001 !!!!!!.. Unbelievable lights for both of us. I had him covered, so he backed out of it at 1,000 feet. Getting DQ'd in Pomona was a lot of fun.....I crossed the center line on the launch. Yep, on the launch. I put the Dart on the wheelie bars and about 90 feet later, I crossed the center line, with the wheels still in the air. I apparently had too much spring pressure in the left wheelie bar and it pushed me to the left. We are headed to Topeka later this month to run the Summer Nationals. Maybe our fortunes will change there. From Topeka we are planning to going to Chicago, the following week end for another National Event. I will let you know how we do. On another note, I would like to invite everyone to visit out West Coast Mopar Gang web site. www.westcoastmopargang.com Three of us got together and started this association. It is by invitation only, and membership is not free. We pay for performance, to our Stock and Super Stock members, for: National and Division wins and runner ups. And we also pay for setting National Records. Event winners and National Record setters get entry into our Hall of Fame. Check out the web site. Sincerely, Gary Hansen
